visited by Media Magnate Rupert Murdoch on January 4, 2001. Murdoch commended the
English website of the Xinhuanet.com as the Best English Webpage he had ever
seen in China for its rich content and beautiful design. As for Xinhuanet.com
become more influential, Guagen encouraged the site to step up its efforts.
On January 2002, there are
some changes when Xinhuanet.com conducted its sixth face-lift, making several
breakthroughs in its content, technology and services. The bandwidth has been widened
to 300M-1,000M, which to exert a great impact on Internet media organizations. Also,
the official website of "Bo'ao Asian Forum" was officially opened
which was run by Xinhuanet.com. It is the one who is in charge of
